A longtime Lathrup Village resident, homeowner and parent. John is invested in this community. Twenty-two years ago, he chose to raise his family here because he valued Lathrup’s beautiful neighborhoods, unique sense of place and diverse community. More recently his parents moved to Lathrup Village, where they enjoy its central location and quiet streets.
An experienced business leader John’s career in automotive business intelligence put him at the helm of a respected international information business where he was responsible for multimillion dollar budgets and setting the company’s vision and mission. John’s experience gives him the kind of leadership skills, budgetary expertise and strategic planning skills our city needs now.
A champion for arts, culture and parks John is a Harvard graduate, the past president of the Meadow Brook Theatre Board of Directors, a former Oakland Press arts columnist and the founder of the early online culture magazine thedetroiter. He knows how important cultural events, shared spaces and grassroot organizations are in building community and he’ll work to recognize, foster and support these assets for all of us.
A listener first John believes leadership begins with listening and considering different points of view before acting. His experience, his love for Lathrup Village, and his vision for good governance will make him a responsive and effective member of City Council.
Please vote for John Sousanis for Lathrup Village City Council on Tuesday, November 4th.
Good government builds real community.
