In addition to focusing on the Seven Keys to Better Government, I will prioritize the following projects and initiatives.
Our Master Plan is the roadmap for Lathrup Village’s future, and it must reflect the voices of the people who live here.
I’ll push for an open, resident-led process that gives the community a real role in shaping our long-term priorities for land use, infrastructure, and development — not a plan decided by outsiders.
Priorities:
Ensure residents are at the center of the Master Plan update.
Provide clear opportunities for public input at every stage.
Align land use, infrastructure, and development decisions with community values.
Insist on a well-publicized transparent process.
By setting clear financial goals and sticking to them, we can ensure Lathrup Village is on strong footing now and in the future. I’ll advocate for a budget that reflect our priorities, that we can actually live by, while also working to grow the General Fund as a buffer against future downturns and emergencies.
Priorities:
Pass a balanced annual budget that:
Set explicit goals for restoring and growing the General Fund.
Invest strategically in infrastructure and city services.
Pursue grants and partnerships only when they align with resident-driven goals
Our downtown should be a distinct business district, that reflects our values, attract visitors, and serves as a hub for civic life. I’ll work to strengthen the city’s partnership with the Downtown Development Authority, ensuring residents a stronger voice in its decisions and that business and community goals are aligned.
Priorities:
Strengthen collaboration between Council, residents, and the DDA.
Ensure DDA goals reflect the broader vision of the city’s residents.
Seek a greater voice for residents in DDA planning and decision making
Make the downtown a hub for civic life, culture, and local pride.
Lathrup Village’s parks and green spaces should serve every neighborhood and all its residents, young and old. I’ll advocate for investments that make them safer, more welcoming, and more useable — from expanded recreation opportunities to pollinator gardens and sustainable care — ensuring that these spaces remain valuable assets for the entire community.
Priorities:
Expand recreation opportunities for all ages (soccer, courts, fitness stations).
Transform underused parcels into pocket parks, gardens, or dog parks.
Grow pollinator habitats, focus on sustainable landscaping.
Leverage grants, city funds, and “adopt-a-park” neighborhood programs.
I’ll work to with my fellow council members to model active listening, respectful discussion, and collaboration, and to foster an enviroment where council decisions are characterized by openness and civility.
By setting the right tone, Council can help pull the community together.
Priorities:
Model respectful debate and collaboration on Council.
Provide more opportunities for residents to be heard.
Promote transparency and civility in city decision-making.
Pull residents, staff, and Council together around shared goals.
