Council Member John Sousanis
For more than two decades, Lathrup Village has been home to John and his family. They chose the city because of its unique neighborhoods, its beautiful trees and green spaces and its architectural character, and because of the resdents’ strong sense of community.
BUSINESS & LEADERSHIP
John’s professional career focused on leadership roles, helping organizations and teams navigate change, interpret complex markets, and plan effectivelyfor the future. Those experiences taught John the importance of listening first, asking thoughtful questions, and working to balance near-term and long-term goals.
ARTS, CULTURE & COMMUNITY
John has supported and worked with arts and cultural organizations throughout the region. He believes strong communities not only require sound finances and effective public services in order to thrive, but also need the arts, parks, public spaces, and local institutions that bring people together.
SERVING ON COUNCIL
John was elected to the Lathrup Village City Council in 2025. His interests on Council include long-range planning, fiscal sustainability, communication and public engagement, and preserving the character of the city’s neighborhoods and green spaces. He believes good government requires transparency, thoughtful decision-making, and clear, proactive communication with residents.
