DDA to Vote on FLOCK Camera Contract Friday, Oct. 16

Flock Cameras: Public Discussion and Friday’s DDA Meeting (Oct. 16th)

Residents have reached out with questions about the Flock license plate reader cameras operating in Lathrup Village, including concerns about privacy, data collection, and in particular, public awareness of the program.

The topic was raised at the most recent City Council study session, as it pertained to the opportunity for public discussion. The City determined that the upcoming meeting of the Board of DIrectors of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), which funds the program, was the more appropriate venue for that discussion.

The DDA is scheduled to consider renewal of the Flock contract tomorrow, Friday, October 16th. There will be time set aside for public comment, and representatives of the Police Department and Flock are expected to attend to answer questions.

Interested residents should attend tomorrow’s meeting and share their questions and perspectives.

Residents may also submit comments through the City’s Public Comment Submission Form . (If filling out the form, please select the Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors meeting and indicate your comments are for the October 16 DDA meeting.
